A year ago today I was starting my very first day of PA (Peer Advisor) training. Instead, on the 13th I will be done with my Summer Session of being a PA. In three days I will be 21, and on the 26th I start my last year of college. Where did time go?
SPOILER ALERT:
Stop reading if you don't feel like listening to me reflect on blabitty-schmah and whatever else.
I am at this point in my life where what I do is a real like grown up does: work, pay rent, cook, clean, etc.
But it feels weird to be entering into my senior year and having the age-old question of "what are you doing with your life?" asked to you in its every form. Well, I don't have an answer for that and I think that's ok.
Also, MOVING.
Moving is a thing, woof. PTL for the lovely people that helped me or I would probs be dead.
But now I'm in a real life apartment, with my enormous amount of this I don't need; and it is time to unpack.
'll put pictures up of my apartment soon!
But things get done, I stress, fuss, and panic; but at the end of the day things are fine and they get done.
Everything is gonna be just fine because God is good and I just need to hold on to that promise.

And the Best Dresser Award Goes to...
So as you may know I've made September my project month if you don't read here, but I sanded and painted this dresser I found at a Goodwill outlet for only $1 and used leftover paints that we had around my house to retouch it so that it didn't look like a hot mess!
Here's the before picture: And here she is after her makeover!

Basically I feel as proud as the mother of the new star on the soccer team (sports!) So what if she's missing a handle, I will call it character! So a complete success on yesterday's project. TODAY I baked and make some awesome banana muffins (half the batch with walnuts and the other half with chocolate chips.)
Now, the car is packed and ready to go because tomorrow I have declared as MOVING DAY.
Lord help me,
-Liza

DIY September! or call me Martha Ray
So I decided to make this month a month to channel my inner Martha Stewart/ Rachel Ray this month. As many of you know I am moving for the 8MILLIONTH time and in order to make the most of it I want to make my living place the best ever. Keep reading as as I work on one[ish] a projects a day. I kicked off the month with some crocheting (typical, right?) but I bought a dresser for $1.00 yesterday at a goodwill outlet and I am going to give it the makeover of a lifetime.
So stay tuned for the before and after pictures of this dresser as well as many more festive craft projects I get myself into.
Reach for the stars because they don't have arms to reach for you, you know what I mean?
Peace, love, and sports!

Reasons why I'm turning into a hippie grandmother
#1 The second I got home from work/ errands I put on a tie-dye mumu.
#1.5 I just used the term "errands"
#2 I woke up before the sunrise and ate lunch before most people eat breakfast
#3 After my afternoon nap I will spend my afternoon cleaning my apartment and cooking
#4 I can no longer stay up late successfully
#5 I look at people younger than me, wishing I had their energy
#6 I own a glasses chain
#7 I think tea is the bomb
#8 Did I mention I'm wearing a mumu?
#9 I couldn't live without my Birkenstocks
#10 I want an old lady fro reals bad.
Also, apparently there is a children's book about me...

Train People
In life one meets all sorts of festive people and as I waited to board my 7:30am train two ladies started quite the conversation. We'll call them Old lady (OL) and Grad School Lady (GSL). Now apparently GSL felt the need to retell her entire lifestory and current life situation. She missed her train yesterday, had to stay in hostel last night, and will be in the grad program at the UW for social work. All while repeating the phrase, "this was just going to be a day trip" at different points so that her audience knew that she wasn't prepared for a full night in Seattle. She also has a cat that isn't really hers, but her roomate's— she's in the process of adopting it (?)
There is also also a man that is probably Santa Claus, (I say probably because he is rather thin at the moment) , who keeps snoring then waking up. Next to him is lip ring girl who loves taking pictures of the scenery. And we must not forget the man who isn't aware of the "don't talk loud on your cell phone" dealio on Amtrak.
Needless to say, nothing like the train.
Stay tuned for more festivities.
Peace, love, and middle parts,
Liza

The Monday Before.
T'was the Monday before finals and all through the town,
all the students were studying, except for the clowns.
The papers were started, but not quite on their way
in hopes that last minute adrenaline would help them write okay.
The children were not nestled in their beds,
they would be studying through the night instead.
Dreams of Spring Break are all that they see,
and when they think about what's left to be done they think, "OH WHY ME???"
But the reading day to come would help with the work left to be done
and hopefully this time they'll choose studying over fun.
Now that I have written this, there are real assignments to write
so good luck on finals to all, and to all a good night.

BestWeekEver.
As some of you may know, last sunday I declared this past week "Happy Week" (also known as BestWeekEver). [Sidenote: I just spilled water next to my laptop that has recently started working again, man I'm really good at this.] Anyhow, I continue to prove the fact that when you decide that you're gonna have a good day/ week it usually happens. Were there downs? Well yeah, and two fire alarms pulled in Emerson? Absolutely, but optimism is actually quite effective.
This is what went down
Now as I go into the last week of the quarter feeling pretty great about things, I gotta feeling that this these last couple of days of the quarter aren't going to be bad at all! Basically, everything's gonna be just fine.
Also, March Madness is about to start which is really exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck on dead week ya'll.
PEACE.
This is what went down
- EMP
- Fun in the Emersun
- The Student Directer One Acts
- Went and saw Don Quixote at the Seattle Opera
- Floor Party
- Emerson Film Fest
Yeah, it was a pretty festive week.
